- Defender makes for pretty powerful Cannonballs
- Berserk and Warcry, along with Triumphant Roar, make good enhancements to BLU’s paltry attack score
- Provoke makes for practical tanking
- Double Attack can make TP gain rival /SAM
Cons

- BLU/WAR is quite limited when it comes to damage mitigation in tanking

“Hey, Azul, I just started partying on BLU… what should I sub? /NIN?” This is a question I often get. My response is always “either /WAR or /RDM, depending on what you plan on doing.” And I suggest /WAR for a reason: It’s a good sub. /WAR provides more STR than any other sub, gives the ever-useful Provoke, and simply makes a bigger difference than just about anything else. BLU/WAR is also the best tank from 10-30, no exceptions. Defense bonus and Cocoon makes you put PLD to shame since you get just as good as armour as they do early on. Later on, BLU/WAR can be outdamaged by BLU/THF… but BLU/THF isn’t always practical, depending on the situation. Your LS might prefer to use SAM/THFs, or you could be in a TP burn party with bouncing hate. In TP burns, /WAR helps stretch out your MP (like /SAM) by offering better melee, and in turn, better WSs. Double Attack helps you gain TP faster. There’s a reason why /WAR is the favourite sub of many DDs… it’s just good.
Warrior is a viable support job starting at level 10 and remains so until level 75.
